Popsicles and Afternoon Sex
I am taking a little detour from the usual marriage secrets, advice, and tips that are in these blog posts. This week’s blog is a humorous story about creative ways to find time for intimacy after a couple has children in the home. This story was shared by a friend but the origin and author are unknown (or I would be glad to give them credit). I hope you enjoy!
The only way to pull off a Sunday afternoon “quickie” with a three-year-old son in the apartment is to send him out on the balcony with a Popsicle. Then tell him to report on all of the neighborhood activities he observes.
“There is a car being towed from the parking lot,” he shouted as he began his commentary while his parents put their plan into action.
“An ambulance just drove by!”
“Looks like the Anderson’s have company,” he called out.
“Matt’s riding his bike!”
“Looks like the Sanders are moving.”
“Jason is on his skateboard!”
After a few minutes he announced, “The Cooper’s are having sex!!”
Startled, his mother and father shot up in bed. Dad cautiously called out, “How do you know they are having sex?”
“Because Jimmy Cooper is standing on his balcony with a Popsicle.”
Sexual intimacy can be challenging once children come along so creative measures sometimes need to be taken. It is important that sexual intimacy does not decline after a couple starts a family.
